View Full Version : New Simpsons game
Looks like a new Simpson's game is in the works:

I've liked most Simpson's games, they are usually light-hearted fun :)
"The characters are cel-shaded, of course, but EA is also implementing a technique that will essentially flatten the character models from whichever angle the camera is viewing them from, to attempt to re-create the 2D, hand-drawn look seen in the show. Speaking of capturing the show's essence, a number of the series' writers penned the script for the game--which will amount to nearly an hour of original cutscenes and dialogue, all voiced by the show's original actors"

"Asked if EA planned to include the classic The Simpsons (the arcade game) as some kind of unlockable bonus, the game's producer smiled, but refused to comment."
mproper 05-10-07, 10:30 AM Nice....I hope this is a nice fun co-op game that I can play with my kid (Like Lego Star Wars was).
it is very co-op, just like lego star wars someone else can jump in at any time.
There are some early gameplay vids too:

I thought I had read that it was co-op the other day, but couldn't remember. Let's hope it's also "fun co-op", which is really the best kind of co-op.
supposedly there is indeed co-op, but NOT online for ANY system.
Hope that changes, it seems odd for the PS3/360 to not get online co-op.
Haha, I like Homer's "blob physics". Quite eye-catching.
Shizelbs 05-10-07, 07:44 PM I just watched the video previews. Looks pretty good. I'll get it. I liked the last Simpsons game I played. I forget the title though. The one that was basically GTA but Simpsonized.

last one i remember playing was basically crazy taxi, only simpsonized. it got old quick, but it was still pretty fun. this one should be better, i think i'll give it a chance.
Moosebox 05-11-07, 12:09 AM The one you are talkin about is The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
This game looks neat though, could be a good game for my girlfriend and I to play through together.

actually i was talking about road rage, maybe you were talkin to Shizelbs
Moosebox 05-11-07, 11:48 AM Oh I forgot about Road Rage, it wasn't that great of a game. Hit and Run was actually pretty good. But this game looks nothing like those two so it should be a nice change.
It seems to have similar gameplay to the Lego Star Wars games which someone mentioned earlier. Those games were great and the drop in/out coop is a nice feature even if it's not online.
I'm sold on it. Sounds like it has lots of new content and the cast.
NeonMcGurk 10-04-07, 10:31 AM Anyone have an idea when this one will be coming out?
TRALFAZ 10-04-07, 11:01 AM EB has "Simpsons:The Game" slated for 10/30/07. Looks like co-op goodness. :)
Anyone know about a 360 demo? Appears the PS3 demo is coming out today.

Great !! I'll start downloading it when I get home, maybe I'll have it for the weekend. The PSN appears to be on dial-up whenever I download anything. I can't believe when people complain about 50 dollars for LIVE, it just makes me laugh.
Broccoli 10-04-07, 01:07 PM the demo is coming soon also for the 360

Mind coming back and telling us how it is? I am assuming the PS3 version will be pretty much identical to the 360 version...
