My last poll (also my first) didn't cut it. Trying to gauge the average weekly usage rate of people's projectors. Let me know.

I voted the same as the first vote - do I win a prize? :D

Great poll idea. :)

Mine comes out to 16 weighted heavy on the weekends.

I voted the 16-24 hours catagory, since that's about my average. I'm a "night owl" and when my PJ gets turned on (3 to 4 times per week), it stays on for 4 to 8 hours at a time. I wind up running it around 100 to 125 hours per month, except when I'm on vacation.

I use mine just like a regular TV... Probably 25-30 hours per week - about half TV/DVD's and half Xbox360.

2 to 3 movies max per week: 4-8 hours.

I use mine as my primary display as well. About 2-3 hours of HDTV per night with additional Xbox360, DVD, and TV action on the weekends :)

I was the only one in the 2-4 range for a little while. Only use it Friday & Saturday night for movies. Too busy and go to bed early during the week so we don't even try to enjoy it then. Makes it a 'treat' for the weekend although I would like to use it more.

Huge video gaming is awesome... I had almost given up video gaming until I got my projector. :)

I voted 12-16, usually it's 1-2 hours each night/day for us. Original lamp 2200 hours on the Panny L300U.

Couldn't agree more...try the new Forza 2 demo on the big screen. BEAUTIFUL!

I hear that.

I'm in the 8-12 simply because - once I fire it up - I feel obligated to watch the opening of Star Wars III (about 2-3 times), then some King Kong clips, then two movies.

My friends are getting tired of me replaying the SWIII intro before every movie but usually shut up about 20 seconds in...and this is just on a IN72 :)

My projector is pretty much my primary TV, and thus gets turned on for a few hours almost every day. I love being down in my basement home theater, and now that it's getting hotter, hanging out in the basement will be a great way to stay cooler while keeping the A/C off.

I use my projector as a large TV and get about 2-4 hours a night. The weekends are terrible depending on how busy I am. I always leave it on if I'm only going to be gone an hour or two. I bought my HD1000U back on Thanksgiving and as of today I have 1,170 hours...I'd say we get good use out of it. Thats stacked just a tad cause of all the vacation time around November and December. I had a Sim2 HT200 before this and only put about 1,100 hours in a year. I didn't watch much on the weekends due to ambient light, but with the extra HP from the mit's, light is not so much of an issue.

My projector is my TV. I generally turn it on around 8pm each night and off around midnight. It might stay on a bit longer on the weekend. 25-30 hours/week is about right.

I'm actually surprised at just how many people use their projector less than 2 hours per day (56%.)

6-10 hours a week, I watch Hereos, Lost in HD on the Panasoonic AX100 and about 2-3 movies a week. Maybe more since its summer.

Kind of surprised by the number of 4-8 hour votes. Guess we're always posting here :)

Do you think it's due to people just not watching much TV or are all these people using another display for their primary viewing? I couldn't imagine watching anything on something other than my projector. I never understand when people talk about conserving bulb life...$300 every two years or so is a small price to pay imo for the best viewing experience.

I'm guessing it's most people's secondary display and bulb life preservation.

You know I actually purchased a new projector rather than waiting for a backorder of bulbs for the 4805. So now I have a projector ready to be installed in the bedroom. Wow I have a big enough bedroom to have a 92 inch diag up there. Must wait until I get another hd box for up there... I have not seen a movie theater since I got my 4805. That bulb lasted over 2000 hours. Everything is cheaper at home... Popcorn in my 2 oz popper, pepsi from the 18 can fridge, or a hotdog off of my roller. And a bag of Twizzlers is four times the size and a third of the price... And you guys are conserving bulb life I actually just acquired six old movietheater seats from a theater that was renovating for free. So I will now have seating for 10. My house will be rocking this fall...

No lines, cheap treats, beer, and "pause" are just some of the reasons I don't go to the threatre.

A PJ, DVD Movies, and cheap popcorn have kept me out of the Movie Theater for over 5 years. Buying a DVD costs less than 2 tickets (and a rental is even cheaper, but I usually buy) and, since I got my 106" screen , the urge has completely disappeared.

Since TV is a background noise filler for my other half, we have a regular TV (now a 32" LCD display) for 24/7 operation. That rate is too high for PJ use, so we reserve it for 2 to 4 nights per week viewing, and then it's on for up to 8 hours :D (Sunrise Earth on Discovery HD Theater comes on at 4AM Pacific Time - being retired is a distinct advantage for us night owls).
