You guys seen the Panasonic DVD recorders getting released in the UK? I have read that Panasonic was not going to have any HDD Recorders this year But man I am jealous after seeing the Panasonic DMR-EX87 with a 250gb HDD :eek: Why can't we get one of those!! Were stuck with the EZ17K & EZ27K :confused: I can understand us not getting the japanese models but, the ones from the UK are the samething just with a HDD, How hard would it be for Panasonic to just offer us 1! thats not asking much, If you want to see pictures of UK models go to avland.co.uk

The UK doesn't use ATSC for digital TV. So at the very least Panasonic would have to replace whatever digital tuner is in that unit with an ATSC tuner, and replace the analog PAL tuner with NTSC.

They are not the same. In UK they use DVB-T and no HD. Big difference.
It would be nice to have a unit like that here, but at lowest street price of about $650, not many people would buy it here. Especially where there are cheap DVR's here and you can get HD Tivo for about $500.

But presumably they have been doing this type of thing (installing different tuners in different geographic regions) for as long as they have been in business! Unless there are some issues surrounding the usage of an ATSC tuner...
