I have an LG LRH-780. It is not an bad recorder, but I seem to have this re-occuring problem. I record a program and when I check what I have recorded on the Menu/List the program is missing.
What show is snow as if I had recorded a channel which was unavailable.
I have the recorder set to record the same shows each day, so I know that this it is not a programming error. This past weekend, it missed over 3 1/2 hrs of programming with 3 separate recording segments, same issue.

I am wondering if I have a bad sector on the HDD, but there are no options to check for bad clusters and the program records completely...with no picture or sound.

I should note that on more than one occasion I was watching the show while it was recording, so it is not a cable signal issue (ie source).

If I had that problem with my DVD recorder I would call it "A BAD RECORDER". If it is new or still under warranty I would exchange it or get it repaired as soon as possible. I wonder how bad things have to get before you call it a "bad recorder"?
