Ok Guys I paid off my system. They are delivering it tomorrow and installing it. When I went to pay it off they told me to take the receiver becuase it is a popluar one and I picked up the MX3000 just so I can play with it. We to my surprise when I opened the box I need a PC to customize and update it and I have a Mac. Well I guess I will just get virtual PC to fix that problem.. Well the other problem is that they stated to do a live update. So I hooked it up to my dell that I have and I installed the software from the site but then when I connected the controler and pressed the satelite icon it came up stating Udate is no longer availble please contact.................. Well I looked up on Universals site to make sure the place where I bought it from was authorized dealer and it was. Could it possible mean that maybe the controler wasnt communicating right.

So first you have a problem, b/c you have a Mac and then it's not a problem b/c of your Dell...

This forum has totally screwed up my once accurate BS detector, b/c now it goes off on every second post.

I really dont understand why you have to come and even post something like that. This is a forum for help. All I wanted was why it gave me the problem when I hooked it up to the DELL. Was I sold a crippled control. Anyone that can give me HELP would be greatly appreciated

There is new software with the "Live Update" feature enabled. Contact your dealer for access to that software.

Just tell them that you need the latest version of the MX3000 Editor software

If you're using the CD software that came with the MX-3000 (if they're still including it) or if you downloaded the software from URC's website, it's the "old" software. Tell your dealer that you want the updateable software. He should know what that is and be able to provide it to you.

Well, if they didn't program it for you, they should provide the software. Can't you return it?

While you're waiting for the manager to call back you should get in touch with URC directly and make sure that these guys are in fact authorized dealers.

Does anyone know what the latest version of the MX-3000 software is?

I originally downloaded the software directly from URC's website before they put the lockdown on the software. I'm just wondering if my software is still getting updated correctly.

Nevermind... I found the answer. Go here if anyone is interested in knowing the latest version.

Time to return the remote to them and purchase one from Mike at Surf remote. He will be able to get you the remote and software as well as some advice if needed during the programming process, Obviously he can program the remote as well for a fee. But if the company you bought it from is giving you the run around, give them the remote back(get money back) and take your business elsewhere
