Nip/Tuck - The Complete 4th Season on DVD. As it turns out, the announcement isn't just for DVD: this is coming on HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc as well!!!

Look for all three versions to hits the streets on the same day, which is September 4th (close to the broadcast debut of the fifth season). The 5-disc DVD set goes for $59.98 SRP, while the two 4-disc hi-def versions will be a bit higher, at $79.98 SRP. All three versions will be in 1.78:1 widescreen, with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound.

Holy crap, I never saw that one coming!
I wasn't going to bother getting season 4 since it was the first season I watched as it aired and therefore don't need the discs, but i'll get the HD DVD set anyways to support the format.

Damn, why couldn't it have been seasons one and two, instead?

I love Nip/Tuck, but I wasn't expecting this on HD DVD as it airs on the FX [Fox] Network. Who produces this show exactly?

Warner distributes this on home video.

This is some of the best news I have ever heard. Now if they would re-release the first 3 seasons that would be awesome.

That's going to be the frustrating thing about TV shows in HD. Smallville Season 5 is great and all... but how long do I have to wait for them to decide to go back and do the previous 4? Years? A decade?

Still, I'll try to keep my complaints in check. ;) TV-on-HDDVD is a great thing. The more, the better.

That means that Heroes (S1), Battlestar Galactica (S1), and Nip/Tuck (S4) are all coming out within a month of each other. Sweet! Maybe we might also get some Veronica Mars action?

I know what you mean. I would sell my first 3 seasons on DVD and repurchase them on HD DVD. Warner does seem to release some older films, so the chances of them going back and releasing earlier seasons doesn't sound too far fetched. I'm guessing if their newer TV series sell well they will put out more older seasons.

When it comes time to release on HD DVD, I hope Universal doesn't start with Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica. (Not a critcism against that season, which I thought was great; I just want them released in order.)

There hasn't been an "official" announcement yet, but my understanding -- including info that came from Universal themselves -- is that they're starting with Season 1.

This is pretty cool, but I wonder how good the show will look on HD. I remember the first couple of seasons looking pretty sub-par on DVD. I've only seen the first 2 seasons, so I definitely need to catch up.

If there was one series that should be in HD it's Nip/Tuck.
Wonder when I can pre-order this with the warner discount?
