hello all! i recently purchased a philips 3505 dvd recorder, but i have an older model rca w/the v-port slot for enhanced games. the tv set is also equiped w/component connect plugs.
should i just use the original rca vport cables or use component video? i don't play any games, just watch dvd movies.

Don't know what a "V-port" is, but Component is the ideal connection for watching pressed/commercial DVD movies. Those DVDs are encoded with Component video (http://www.projectorcentral.com/component.htm) and they reproduce the digital data on the DVD most faithfully and sharply...at least they do with my Pio 640 and 51" projection TV.

I watch commercial DVDs via Component, and home videos via Composite and S-Video (since I can't encode them w/Component...no inputs)...just a personal pref.
