I have a PLV-70 that was working perfectly with less than 1000 hours on it when the bulb popped. Not the reflector, just the inside part. I cleaned it out and put two known good bulbs in and neither one worked. So, what is it worth in this condition? I have no idea what is wrong as everyone says it should have worked with just a new bulb. I can see 3 of the 5 fans and they turn so if it is a fan problem, it would be the ones deep inside.

I bought another projector and want to sell this one if it has any value at all.

Anyone have an insight on this?

PS. It is actually a Cinema 20HD which is a PLV-70 with a white case.

I have a 20HD as well. Although I still like my unit, if I had to put a significant repair into it (certainly anything more than lamp cost) I would look to replace it.

My view, therefore, is that a non-working unit (with a stock lens and no lamp) would have very little value at all, especially when the problem is unidentified. Even if you sold it with a new lamp, it would have little more value than the lamp itself.

If you are not in a hurry, your best bet would be to list it on a site like Videogon for a couple of weeks with a best offer, and see what happens. Take trade value if you can.

Alternatively, you could post it on AVS with a price.

If all else fails, or if you are in a hurry, then go to Ebay and let the market decide.
