So yesterday I left at about noon to go to Chicago for the night. I came home today at around 1:30 PM and noticed that I had left my plasma tv on! There was no source running, it was just displaying a light gray screen. Now, it is either my eyes playing trick on me or my screen has suffered darkening due to possible burn in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The screen is an HP PL4260N.

Thanks!

No it should not have hurt it after just 25.5 hrs. It takes a bright or a high contrast image (bright image on a dark background) to create image retention or burn in. Even if there was an image left on it should go away over time as long as you don't leave it like that for a much longer time.

It will be fine, shouldn't have hurt it at all.

It may have dulled slightly but will resume brightness with broadcast source running through it.
If you worried you could run a bright white screen to see if that helps

Running a set for 25+ hrs will not dull or dim a screen. No need to run a bright screen, just go back to watching tv normally...

You are suffering from image retention-burn in paranoia. ;)

They make it up, because it sounds reasonable.
