I'm trying to figure out the EXACT STEPS it takes to get a laptop to reliably display over VGA on my Samsung 6187. TV on, computer set to a compatible resolution, turn computer on with cable plugged in, TOTAL CRAPSHOOT! Why oh why can't I just select the VGA input on the Samsung when it shows gray. :mad:

I've got this to work a number of times but tonight I just gave up. Anybody have any tips on this? Sorry for asking a question that's been answered but I searched and found squat.

BTW it's a pretty new Sony Vaio running Vista.
