Hello,
Well, I recently had a guy come out to tune up my tv, because my extended warranty is about to expire. It was half a waste of time, and half educational. The wase of time part was where the guy vacuumed out the bottem part of the tv, and told me that the 3 color projectors were all dust free, and that they were in a sealed compartment where dust could not get to them. I late found this to be utter garbage, and upon discovering them on my own (after looking around for some online assistance) and finding that they were in fact pretty dusty. So was the mirror. So, I cleaned both of those, and got a much nicer looking picture.
The half that was educational was where he proceeded to use the DCAM feature to do a more refined version of the "magic focus". He refused to tell me how to do this, so, being as resourceful as I am, I went online and found out exactly how to get into it and change it.
Now, my problem.
The guy had to get a seperate remote to do the DCAM, and as I began my own exploration of the function, I found out why. My remote, the one that came with my 51f710s does not have the PIP MODE button, or the PIP Channel button, which are both needed to save to the rom in the DCAM mode.
Does anybody know of an alternate button or combination to save to the rom if a person has a remote that somehow doesn't have this function? I'm just about to go down to circuit city with my programmable remote and steal the IR functions off of one of theirs that has the buttons I need! :)
