So my HTPC crashed, need new motherboard, CPU, Video card. I'm told new video card has only DVI out. My old HTPC had RGB out to my Barco.
If I just want to play non HD DVDs on my new HTPC, then can I just use a cheap $5.00 DVI-RGB converter like this one:
http://www.svideo.com/dvi.html
Then use an RGB to 5BNC breakout cable to Barco port 5.
Any limitations using this DVI to RGB converter?
I know about the $175 HDfury, or the $185 Orphit converter for HD DVD etc.
Also, I'm thinking about going DVI from HTPC and Starchoice HDTV set top box to my Outlaw 990, and then DVI out to the cheap $5.00 DVI - RGB converter to Barco 5 BNC port 5. Will this pass thru 1080i HDTV? Any problems with this?
Thanks, Tom
