I am not sure if this is the right thread or not, but I could not find a dedicated mounts forum. Maybe one should be created?
Anyway, I have just about decided to buy an X-Arm mount and wanted to hear other peoples impressions. I have read some online reviews and they were all pretty positive but any additional insights are appreciated.
Also, I know we are not supposed to post retail links or prices here, but I am having a hard time finding a decently priced one. Cheapest I have found so far is about $1100. Any ideas where to look? I was hoping to stay within my budget of about $850.
I cannot post a link to the product info page since I need 5 posts to do that, but their homepage is closystems

"x-arm" mount" is that different from the articulating wall mounts that pull out from the wall and can swivel left right and tilt up down?? what does an X-arm mount do better or differently than an articulating mount? what is the brand name of the x-arm mount you are looking at and where did you find it. sounds way to expensive. have you checked some of the forum sponsors like Visual Apex for wall mounts. the high priced articulating wall mounts usually are in the $500-700 range and that is for a big plasma like the 65" th65px600u panasonic.
what brand and model of plasma are you trying to wall mount?
here's one for up to 63" and 200 Lbs.

Well, X-Arm is the model name and it is manufactured by a company called Closystems but I think it is also sold under the brand name K2. I cannot post the direct link to the page because I need 5 posts to do that. But just add a dawt com to their name and you can see the product info for it or google closystems. They do not sell it directly. On their page it says it supports TV's from 40 to 63" and weighing up to 180 pounds.
The reason I want to get the X-Arm is because it is motorized and I can adjust my TV with my remote. I have a universal remote MX-3000 and I have confirmed that it will work with the X-Arm. It comes with a remote as well but I love my universal remote.
My TV is over my fireplace in a cathedral ceiling room. Due to the layout of our furniture, sun glare, and how many people might be watching TV at one time, I find myself adjusting the TV a lot. I have an articulating mount now, but it is a pain to stand up and adjust it and even a bit dangerous for my wife because she can barely reach it. I also love the fact that when you turn the TV off it goes nearly flush against the wall.
I don't ming paying a bit more for the convenience of a remote controllable motorized mount. And the price is not that different from a normal articulating mount which is basically just a piece of aluminum or steel without all the electronic gadgetry of the X-Arm. I checked out your link for mountsdirect and they do sell the K2 X-arm for $999 which is cheaper than Tigerdirect. Luckily I did find a store on Amazon that sells it for $849 plus $40 shipping not 10 minutes after I posted my first message. So far that is the lowest price by far. Also found one auction on Ebay that I am watching. If any of you have found a cheaper place please let me know, looking to buy soon.
P.S. How hard would this be to install myself or would I need a professional to do it? Also would love to hear from any current X-Arm owners on their thoughts or impressions.

Wow, a big price drop in two days. I found a dealer on Amazon that is now selling it for $739. Just search for X-Arm and click the Electronics section to see the prices.
