Hello,
I've had my Sony 50E2010 (european E2000) since october 2006 and have generally been very pleased with its performance (especially for the money).
However some time ago i noticed severe ghosting under certain conditions. The image would have a faint ghost offset about half an inch to the left. This happens on all inputs (HDMI, RGB-scart, component) under all resolutions - BUT only when in 60Hz mode (which is 90% of the time). In 50hz mode there is not a trace of ghosting and the picture is perfect!
I have tested this with PS3 and Oppo DVD player on the HDMI inputs, Xbox 360 on the component input, Xbox and PS2 on the RGB-scart inputs. They all show ghosting at 60Hz. Even the TVs built in menus show the ghosting if in 60Hz.
The question is if this is a common problem with this TV model or if my set is defective??
Also - i cannot believe i didnt notice this until 2 months ago - but i cannot say if this problem has been there all along or developed over time.
Please check the linked images.
Cannot post images yet =/
PS! I tried ferrite cores around the cables etc. but it makes no diff. Also tested different types of cables etc. I do not think its a signal source issue since the ghosting also shows on the TVs internal menus.
