My cable box doesn't have a HDMI output - only DVI. My TV (Samsung HLT5075S) doesn't have DVI input - only HDMI. I have a DVI cable that I used with my old TV. Should I get an HDMI adapter for the DVI cable or just get a an entirely new DVI HDMI cable? Also what brand should I get? I have Monster cables for everything else. Does the brand really even matter? Is DVI much better than Component?

i have some equipment that i use both a hdmi adapter and i also use a hdmi to dvi cable and both work great. as for the component vs dvi/hdmi i think it depends on your equipment, i have found for me that my dvd player has slightly better colors with component cables but is not as sharp as hdmi, my cable box looks better with hdmi/dvi and all my cables come from monoprice.com
