I received this sub yesterday in the beautiful gloss black finish. My question is where to place it. My wife I prefer to place between our two seating positions (nearfield) whereas I have read that front stage placement minimized localization.
If I place it between the seating position I will need to get a furniture glass cut to protect it since it will also serve as a coffee table. I have tried to ask this question in two forums without any help.
Do you fellow AVS'ers that have this sub placed nearfield experience any localization? I know its best to try it in many places but the wiring is a real chore.

I had the same model placed next to my couch - unless I ran the volume very high (in a large open space, so sub has to work much harder) I could not localize it with xover at 80hz with music etc - but expect to get a "butt shaker" experience with it located so close.

Later I moved it closer to the front speakers to get a better freq resp.

Hmmm I have a big chair right next to mine, and there is no mistaking it at higher levels...

Lower levels its more difficult, but I tend to run very high levels...

I guess all you can do is Play with it for a bit, and see how things go..
