If so cau you tell me what your settings are.

I have the set up going to the location of the MP4box.exe
do I need a temp directory and to locate the tagger?

Tells me it has converted but doesnt work. Had this running before but cant get it to run this time around.

Using Vista 64bit and selecting admin when running?

Thanks

No, I haven't been able to get it to work either. I'm running Vista but have not installed QuickTime yet due to the incompatibilities with iTunes. I know there is a patch for Vista that fixes iPod problems but it hasn't been pressing enough for me yet.

I started using Yamb but found too many files that wouldn't convert.

Easiest method to repackage quicktime high-def trailers is using Quicktime Pro

1. Open Movie File
2. Choose File Export, choose Movie to MPEG-4
3. Options>File Format:MP4
4. Set Video to Pass Through
5. Set Audio to AAC-LC Music 160kbps
Output Sample Rate: 44.100KHZ/48.000KHZ "Depending on Source File"
Encoding Quality: Best
6. Click OK

Is YAMB supposed to be able to read QT files with only mp4box installed? Some people say they can convert with it but it always gives me an error. I'm updating to yesterdays version now and adding AtomicParsley and will see if that helps.

I was finally able to convert .movs to PS3 compatible mp4s using the latest YAMB and mp4box from KurtNoise. Previous versions of YAMB weren't working for whatever reason. I was able to convert the 1080p Grindhouse trailer from Yahoo and the 9 minute Ratatouille clip from Apple. It was as simple as dropping the mov files into the YAMB "create" window and clicking "Next". And it took just a minute or two. I still don't have QuickTime installed so YAMB and mp4box are doing all the work.

I used these files from http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=Yamb/
* Yamb-2.0_20070520.zip
and from http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=mp4tools/
* MP4Box-0.4.3_20070518.zip
* AtomicParsley_rev110.zip
* mp4tags.zip

My YAMB converts apple movie trailers quickly also. One nice thing about YAMB is that it just repackages the .mov into a .mp4 without any conversion of the video/audio.

With 5.1 clips, you might want to check and see how the MP4 works. From my experience, it converts it to mono while stereo clips converts correctly.

YAMB and mp4box doen't convert 5.1 to anything that I am aware of. Are you talking about QuickTime?

Use YAMB for QT files with multichannel audio. Use QT Player for anything in stereo.

Yamb will preserve the audio channels, but QT will force you to downmix it, which it doesn't do too well.

I see now way to launch a program. Please help. I can currently convert SOME files with the older yamb but not all and I want the Grindhouse and other trailers. Thank you.

I just unzipped those files and copied them into my existing YAMB directory, replacing the older version with the same names. At a minimum, you should already have the main YAMB files and mp4box. The mp4tags and AtomicParsley files are optional so you may not have them already.

My Yamb files look like these:
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\lang"
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\AtomicParsley.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\MediaInfo.dll"
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\MP4Box.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\mp4tags.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\ReadMe.txt"
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\Yamb.cfg"
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\Yamb.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Yamb\Yamb.log"

Oh, and you have to go into the yamb settings and tell it where to find a couple of the files.

I get this in my log:
[10:40:50] : Yamb 20070520 started !!!

[10:41:01] : Creation failed.

What am I missing? It says error and does not work.

The phrase "IsoMedia File is truncated" sounds like there is a problem with either the file itself or one of the streams inside. Can you try redownloading it?

I tried that and still samething. I went to the Yamb site and got the 1.6 version I think and then when to the site you suggested and got the files you suggested and copied them the the program and still nothing. I noticed the program now looks different but does not work and I have tried it with several mov files. Anything else you all can think off?

Hmm, not really. Can you convert other files? Just to be clear, I meant redownload the trailer- did you try redownloading the trailer or YAMB?

That site that I posted is the YAMB site, or at least it's the site of YAMB's author. Those are the latest betas for YAMB 2.0.
