I currently have a denon 3803 with a hsu vft-3. I am looking to upgrade the endon to the 4308 when it comes out later this year. Do I need to upgrade the sub also? Is there that much difference between the vtf3 and 3.3? I would appreciate your thoughts.

If you are happy with your subwoofer now, then you should be happy with it with your new receiver.
