i'm wondering how i calibrate my tv using this disc...there are a bunch of screens on there but they all look like Greek to me...there are no real instructions on what to do...is there some kind of tutorial somewhere that can walk me through it??

Try using Avia as a tutorial for DVE.

So I'm guessing you didn't read the back of the case :D Also their website has a lot of great information :)

Don't feel bad, I have the DVE HD and it's not that easy to use like the Avia is. I'm going to get Avia 2 when it comes out.

Unfortunately, they have decided that their users don't need some "on-DVD" help in using their disc. In this regard, the original "A Calibration Standard", on Laser Disc, and their VE, on DVD, were better. That was my gripe about their DVE, on SD-DVD. Fortunately, they do provide better guidance on their web site (Home page = http://www.videoessentials.com/).
