I already ran low level audio from my equipment stack to my subwoofer location inwall.

Now I'd greatly prefer a passive subwoofer with outboard amp in my main stack.

The cable already in the wall is the Belden 1505F.

I have the required two conductors needed to pass speaker level audio but am I crazy to pass big sub amp power (Velodyne) over that cable?

Note that moving the outboard sub amp near the location of the sub is not an option.

Too much current for 21 gauge wire. If you didn't staple the wire down, you could use one coax cable as a pull wire to fish 12 AWG speaker wire through the wall.

I haven't ever tried it, but maybe, just maybe, you can use the shield as the conductor. But I wouldn't recommend it.

Well, the shield is a conductor, and is used as a conductor, so, if you have two runs of this coax, then use the sheilds....it'll be fine.

UPDATE: So I also have a component video cable that I don't need to use since I ran DVI as well. So...

If I have a component cable and a subwoofer cable = 4 coax.
Use 2 cables (that's two shields and two cores) for +
and 2 cables (that's two shields and two cores) for -

....is that enough copper to get the job done for speaker level?

What is the approximate gauge of a typical shield in a low level speaker cable?
