I need some cheap component cables for doing 480P on a DVD player. Component cables given by Comcast for my HDTV box was partially eaten out my rats (long story).

I was going to pick up a few component cables on Monoprice and was wondering what the difference between these two sets of component cables were that justify the jump in prices.

CHEAPER OPTION 1 (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023501&p_id=320&seq=1&format=2&style=)

VS

OPTION 2 (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023501&p_id=2773&seq=1&format=2&style=)

Just a note, my first generation HDTV does not support HDMI.

cee.....
IMHO, either cable set should do you well....IF you can spring the extra (few) $, I'd personally go for OPTION 2....after all, even $18 isn't ALL that bad for VERY GOOD quality component cables, considering what you COULD pay for others like M******! ;)
Many on this Forum, including myself, have had very good luck with Monoprice products....and service! Thay're really tough to beat!
Good luck with whatever you decide.....

The second is a thicker cable, 18g. This helps IMO to make the cable stronger when you are bending it, pulling, better long term durability, etc. I've snapped a few cables at the adapter end by pulling too hard so I try to go as thick as I can. The adapter ends are also 'nicer' :)

Awesome, thanks for the quick help, you guys. I think i will go for option 1, as all it's doing is 480p and the HD box in my bedroom. I just wanted to verify that it will do a 1080i signal.
