Hi,
I have a Barco cine 7 and would like to know how important it is that the raster stay within the phosphore edges. Mine overflows the phosphore left and right a bit (it's bigger than the phosphore surface in width but not in height). I read that as long as the actual image stay within the phosphore surface, it should not overeheat the tube. Can someone confirm or should I get my installer to move the barco back a bit to get a smaller raster?
Thanks for the help. I live in Bangkok and it's hard to get qualified CRT installer here.

As long as the image doesn't go off the tube face, it'll be okay. If it were me though, I'd have it properly installed...why can't you move it back yourself? Can you decrease the raster size while keeping the same image size?

Nathalip... your problem is what I would consider a goal to achieve with my Marquee! I *want* my raster to go over the edge!!

But NOT my active image. That would be "not good". ;)
I want to use as much phosphur as possible from left to right.

But where it becomes an issue is if you are having trouble achieving proper focus on your left and right sides of the image. There is that trade-off to consider.

Thanks a lot for the quick replies :D . I am totally amazed to get advice so fast.
To answer your question I can't move it myself, it's fixed on the ceiling with a mount.
I don't know how to decrease the raster size. Image , yes, but raster size?
Apart from that the image's focus left right is fine.
