Anyone know what the model numbers for the 2007 models will be? Sure seems like all the manufactures wait until June/July before releasing new models. :)

There is quite a large thread on 2007 Sony SXRD...expect august/september/october with the a3000 coming out a month before the new xbr3 or xbr5, not sure of name. Either way, from the sounds of it, this year should have a substansial amount of positive changes.

Is this the latest JVC? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/484465-REG/JVC_HD58S998_HD_58S998_58_HDILA_TV.html

If so it looks great and only 10.8 inches depth for a 58 inch display.

It isn't the latest and greatest although it is pretty thin.

I'd say the XBR2/A2020, then either the Mits 831 Diamond Series or Samsung LED 87/89S series.

You could get the 60" A2020 for around $1800-1900, the 60" XBR2 for around $2300, and the 70" XBR2 for around $4,200. If you want to wait about 3-4 months, which you should, go for the A3000 or XBR5 which should be worth the wait.

Also, by the way, I don't know if you've been to Best Buy lately, but I personally wouldn't go anywhere but SXRD. I think the only thing I might consider upgrading to besides SXRD would be the 8G pioneer plasma models coming out. Even still it would be expensive. Also I could care less how thin my TV is :-)

Andy:
Note that the new Mitsubishi Diamond model number ends in "833" and that Mitsubishi is coming out with laser DLPs in the same timeframe (Aug/Sept/Oct)...

Sigh, always something new on the horizon. :D

What would be the advantage of the Laser DLP's? Also do the MIT rear projection sets use "wobulation" to achieve 1080p or are they true 1080p HDTV's?

A laser DLP this year? What size? Are the specs out?

I would like to see a big screen JVC RPTV with the new 15K:1 native panel contrast panels that the new FP uses...

Right now for me its between a 60 inch 1080p Pioneer "Super Plasma" or the Samsung 81 series if they turn out to be real...

The laser sets are coming in 2008, not 2007.
