weird problem...all of my recorded animation shows (family guy, simpsons, american dad, futurama) are basically unwatchable when i try to replay then. They stutter and cut out and shift focus. It's a mess. I never notice ANYTHING like that with any of my other shows. Even ones that are on the same channel.

obviously, the big question is, are these shows stuttering and being awful by themselves or are they fine naturally and only get destroyed when they are being recorded. haven't had to a chance to check that out--maybe the 8300 is just recording exactly what what was on the screen.

i can only think there is something consistently "wrong" with how my 8300 handles these specific shows. Right now i have the box set to pass through 1080i and upscale everything else. it just makes things easier and that we don't have to wait 5-10 seconds when it switches from 720p to 1080i or vice a versa.

lastly, has anyone experienced anything like before? I have tried hard resets but the problem eventually comes back and this is a replacement unit.
