I've been searching for a 50" or greater flat panel tv, mainly for playing 360 and playstation 3. But to watch movies and use it as a monitor for my computer. Also, I would like for it to have PnP capability so that I could play games and watch tv/work on computer at the same time. I would like to keep my search under $4,000 but still require it to be 1080P. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate your help.
Thank you,
nawins

I'm not sure how much the 50" model costs, but I use a 42" Sony XBR2 LCD. I currently have my 360, PS3, Wii, and PC connected to it and love it. The only thing it is missing is PIP, but other than that it is one of the best pieces of electronics I have ever owned.

Panasonic and Pioneer are coming out with new 1080p models of their plasmas soon or already. Not sure about price but the initial reviews are that they blow everything else away. The new pioneer models are said to possibly make even SED technology obsolete before it comes out.
I would go to the flat panel section of avs to look at pros and cons of lcd and plasma. You will get all kinds of opinions. You will probably like whatever you get anyway.
But, I would get a plasma because it has superior picture, no ghosting, no lag, and the new models have almost no burn in. I don't see an advantage to lcd really except price.

Forgot to say to take your consoles into the store, hook it up and see for yourself. It is very likely that you will see that the plasmas look better. The Wii will amost certainly look better on the plasma. See for yourself. But, just get what you want. Your money, your tv. (Still consider RP unless you don't have the room.)

What is "RP"?
