I searched the forums and couldn't find an aswer to this. I'm wondering how often to recalibrate my TV? I have a Sony Bravia KDLV40XBR1 LCD. I last calibrated it 2-3 years ago using DVE. How much do the settings "drift" or change on their own over time? If it's only a few percent, I don't want to spend the time to recalibrate. But if it's a significant difference, say 25% or more per year or something like that, then I think it's worth it. Without going into too much detail, why is it that the settings "drift", if at all, on their own?

Thanks!

Greetings

Ask yourself the same question about your car. Why do you have to get more than one oil change or tune up for your car? Why can't one be good enough?

Wear and tear on the TV changes the way it operates. Changing out things like DVD players also changes the way the TV operates.

As a calibrator, I quickly look at my own TVs every 4 to 6 months. And do a major grayscale retweak about once a year.

Retweaks take less than 5 mins. Less time than one spends in the washroom. :) Or channel surfing when nothing is on.
