Workin' on the DL!!!

Why am I getting an error saying; "An error occurred during the download operation. A connection to the server cannot be established. (80710723)" I happens after 2%. Now I can't get up to 2%. It blinks the green light for a few seconds then stays solid. ???

I'm browsing the internet on my computer just fine.

I'm getting similar error; eror 8002f994; Stops after 1% downloaded

Nothing about not getting a connection to server and I can use the internet browser; just can't download more than 1% before getting that error message

What does it mean? Anyone??

I had the same issue to begin with. I shut the PS3 down, re-booted, and began the download and it worked just fine.

Maybe the server is busy or you got disconnected from the server some how. I would just try again later.

Mine updated just fine, I'm going to play around with it now!

For those having trouble with Update via Internet on the PS3, your router may be causing some issues.

Try opening up these ports
TCP port: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP port: 3478, 3479, 3658

If that doesn't work, add your computer to the Demilitarized Zone(DMZ) which essentially places your computer outside the router ie bypassing the built in firewall. This should work.

Very nice update. If your TV is capable of 24Hz refresh rate, then you are in luck. 1080p 24 Hz Output via HDMI is now available.
DVD Scaler is also available, i'm guessing for the following
-Double Scale(720p)
-Normal(480p)
-Full Screen(1080p)

finally... dvds in full widescreen... and tv displays source as 1080p

I just wanted to comment on the scalar. Its ok. Nothing to get super excited about. I put in my Forest Gump DVD and it looks a bit better at 1080p. But still an improvement.
Wish paramount would release this on blu-ray :)

I gotta say I loved my PS3 before and now I love it even more. This update ROCKS. I have been able to find WMP11 with no problems. Only issue is it doesnt seem to support album art???? I know how dare I complain given this update!!!!

I got mine to DL; Sorry about earlier post; I saw error message and I went into full-on panic mode. In fact, 1.8 did not take nearly as much time as 1.7 took. I have not had time to play around with ps3 since DL but I know that 1.8 fixed some type of weird glitch that I picked up after 1.7: After 1.7 I was no longer able to exit my ps2 games via the ps button on the sixaxis ps3 controller. Not sure why because I was able to do so before 1.7. No matter now as I am happy to report that I am once again able to exit my ps2 games normally after 1.8. Thanks again

When I do a search for music media servers, it finds my laptop, find my music.
I scroll through to a folder for instance, pick and artist and select the album, all the tracks in that album stay Unsupported data. I know they are all properly formatted WMA files.


well I can play the sample files. I cant seem to play songs DL from URGE which kind of stinks. What about album art???? Any idea
