just incase no one knows yet!!! woot! I cant believe this has gone unoticed in all the press releases. well the smoothing for pS1/PS2 games did to, but this is a tad bit bigger, and has been wanted by the videophile community for quite sometime.

well I own a KDS-50A2000, and I'm pretty sure it doesnt support 1080p/24, so does this mean I cant take advantage of this at all?

I own a 60A2000 and our sets definitely don't support 1080p/24, unfortunately.

Its a great thing but unfortunately a lot of people don't own TV's that support 1080p at 24 Hz

Confirmed to work!
Saw this on NeoGaf.

The authors of this german article claim that with this update PS3 just rendered all other existing BD players to useless crap.

Can someone confirm if the Sony A2000 does 1080p24 from the PS3? I've been searching but I can't seem to find an answer.

Around back, you'll find a solid complement of inputs, including two HDMI with 1080p input capability (they'll accept more-common 1080p/60fps sources but not 1080p/24);Link (http://reviews.cnet.com/projection-tvs/sony-kds-60a2000/4505-6484_7-31901232.html?tag=pdtl-list)

Nope :(

Damn! I'm still going to try when I get home of course but doesn't seem like its going to work... Another quote... "1080p/24 material from our Sencore VP-403 signal generator was not accepted. "

Thanks for the quick reply.

Bah, the only options for 1080p/24 support are "automatic" and "off", and "automatic" doesn't give me 1080p/24 Blu-ray playback even though my display support it.
