go to accessory settings where you can test the volume, there is now an option to "connect"
after some playing around I find that I no longer have to re-pair my headset everytime i turn the system on. if the bluetooth isn't being picked up, "connect"
I still had some problems, and still got voices thru my speakers at one point. I exited out the game, and did a connect to my headset and it fixed
also i tried connecting my phone to the headset and then dropping the connection (usually this is a certain re-pair) I then did 'connect' without turning the headset off and it worked.
all in all it still seems to be a buggy unstable relationship, but it seems a little more stable than before
I have the H500 which used to work like a charm back on earlier firmware versions

I've got the H700 and always had to re-pair it to the PS3. I think it was the last FW update for me that stopped all that. I can now be in the middle of a Resistance match, flip open the headset and it will connect with no problem. Never did that before. Hopefully 1.8 doesn't make that go away!!

Sweet, I'll have to try mine out. I've had it sitting in my junk draw for months cause I can't stand re-syncing the thing everytime I turn on the ps3.

Since you guys seem to use blue tooth on PS3 I will ask my question here. My bluetooth Sony blu ray remote is currently synched and shows on port 7. How do I unsync the remote from 7 in case I ever want to have 7 active controllers. Is there a way to unsync a headset too?
I guess basically I am asking how one disconnects a blue tooth accessory.

hmmm, I think if you just don't turn on that accessory and something else that is on will take its place/port. I think it is that you can only have 7 bluetooth accessories at once, including controlers and headset, etc just turn something off and you should be fine, but I'm speculating

Are there any games out that support over 4 players, let alone 7? Even with a big screen, a 6 and/or 7 player split screen will be small.

I believe one of the basketball games supports 7 players on one screen.

Perhaps football as well?

My motorola 350 headset now works with this update but it is still kind of buggy sometimes I will have to turn it on 2 times before it works right. This headset use to work before 1.6 by the way.

after more play time, i think my level of fustration has not gone down, still very buggy, drop connections and voices thru speakers, can't turn on the headset in the game, I have to do this in the xmb, and hope it doesn't drop in the middle of a game, they fix one thing and break another, come on Sony pay the extra QCers and get this right

Just wondering if anyone knows what the best blue tooth headset is to purchase for the PS3. I have MotorStorm and i am reading feedback that there have been many problems with Blue tooth on older software versions of PS3 but i didnt know if it has been fixed with the newest software update from PS 3. How are the H500, H700, H3 and voyager 510?

How are the H500, H700, H3 and voyager 510?I think the headset might work differently for some people. As crazy as that sounds I think some of the problems people are experiencing are due to fake motorolas, issues with your wired/wireless setups, and in some rare cases issues with your PS3. For example I couldn't get my H350 (genuine) to work at all post 1.6 firmware update and so I tried the H3 (genuine) that a friend of mine uses. The H3 still wouldn't work with my setup so I went to the Voyager 510 and I haven't looked back..an all round excellent headset with Motorstorm (when the servers are working) and it's never let me down in Resistance.

In my experience I have become very wary of the compatibility with the PS3 and motorola headsets. But like I said, your experience might vary.

You should check out the BT headset lists here at AVS, PS3forums, and the Playstation boards. I think I actually already posted the links to the other 2 in our thread here.

Good Luck.

My headset prior to 1.8 would NEVER connect, I had to sync it every single time I turned on the PS3. Now with the update all I have to do is turn on the headset and it immediately gets picked up by the PS3 making life a hell of a lot easier for me :)
