Folks,

The next Gears of War update is coming along nicely. We don't have a release timeframe for it yet but I just wanted to let you know we're making significant progress. In addition to the previously mentioned plan to improve roadie run we're also going to have new achievements relating to Annex and the Hidden Fronts DLC. Of course no title update would be complete without more exploit squashing and the ever-popular "general housekeeping".

I thought that MS didn't allow any achievements to be based on paid DLC? I could see this being OK after the Hidden Fronts package is free, but not until then.

I think the rule is up the first 1000 achievement points, they must be free, but there can be an additional 250 points through DLC.

Shivering Isles added 250 Acheivment Points to Oblivion and that cost $30.

Is GOW ever going to get any single player content added? Even a new weapon for use in single player mode might add some replay value and give me a reason to finish insane mode.

i can careless about achievement points. I wish they would make a halo matchmaking style for this game. I love GOW but it is rare to find a good game unless you are with friends. First of all I can only stand annex and when I join half the games its 200 to 20 4vs2. This is so dumb and if they made matchmaking with ranks it would be so much better.Screw the points fix the game

I agree but I don't think you will see this until GOW2. Annex definitely screams for matchmaking. Annex stinks unless the teams are even.

More maps! I'm glad they are adding more achievements, but I still have a lot of work to do to get the ones I'm still working on. I can't believe I don't have the shotgun one yet.

I also wish they would release some/any single player content. I'm on crappy dialup so I miss out on the whole online experience :( Not that it really matters as I would get owned pretty bad.

the online experience is fantastic, especially playing with avs/age guys...skill level does not matter.

you're on dial-up? for real? i haven't seen an ad for a dial up service provider in the last two years..are they still in business?

As of yet their is no high speed available where I live. I tried 4 years ago to get wireless but to no avail. I'm going to try again now as they have built a new tower near my house, so I've got my fingers crossed.

Nice to know that their will be a group waiting for me to play with online that will match my skill and age.

does anyone happen to know anyone who works at microsoft or has someone on their friends list who knows someone, I have been suspended from xbox live for a second time in 1 month - i don't cheat and rarely use my mic, everyone trash talks once in a while but that shouldn't get you suspended! I find it hard to believe that this system lets anyone file a complaint against someone they havn't played with but u have to play with them to submit a player review? what kind of nonsence is this? I've called microsoft everysingle day and finally got a supervisor on the phone and was told no one in the whole company has the authority to lift a suspension which i think is complete and utter BS!!!! little kids in gears of war or people who file complaints for no reason on people because you got the sniper/boom that they wanted wtf! too bad - but no need to file complaints!!

sorry for the long post - but very upset at the way i was treated for a service i pay for and i wanna play some gears!!! but not at the cost of my account every 2 weeks.....
