What is the correct way to sound "deaden" inwall speakers? Just instulation? The wall they are being mounted is shared with my sons room so keeping all the sound going forward is paramount. Any help is appreciated. The drywall isn't up yet so I'd like to go ahead and do it right, but not sure what route to go. Will Dynamat do the trick?
Thanks

Tough one. Sheet rocked stud walls are tough to deaden. Physical isolation and mass are the only effective methods.
The very best method is false wall on your side that does not use the studs of your son's wall. If that is not practical use flexible metal strips to mount the sheet rock. If that won't do put in 2 x 3 studs between the existing studs to carry the rock on your side. The objective is to break any sound transmitting physical connection between the two rooms.
You should also consider building a stud bay sized cabinet out of MDF to keep the back wave from the speakers from impacting directly on the sheetrock of your son's room.
Certainly insulation will help, but it won't significantly reduce noise transmission by itself.
Double wall construction will also reduce sound comming the other way, a far more common complaint as boys grow up. :)
