I basically get to play every night for about 3 hours at most and if I am not working over the weekend I can get a solid 5-6 on a Saturday, the wife willing of course if she does not have the "honey-do" list out :D

Is there some way to track progress over time? For example, if we decided to have a friendly competition to see who gets the most points by the end of summer, how can we track that (apart from doing it manually, which would not be that hard either). It does not look like I will be able to crack the top 10 anytime soon, but with some serious gamming I can crack the top 15. (and everytime I check, I seem to be dropping lower and lower......).

I don't get enough gaming time to compete for the top of the overall rankings, but it is really cool that you can filter by game. I can focus on one game and try to battle it out with you guys.

We could just screen capture on a given day. Take a snapshot on the start day and end day of the competition.

Though I'll have to rely on how fast the CA Gamefly shipping center can send it to my doorstep in the east coast. I've been playing Hitman to death as of Friday night so my gamerscore jumped up a few hundred at 21890. :D

Agreed, but the 'serious' gamers have likely already completed the 'easy' achievement games and spend more time on the hard games, whilst the more casual gamers can rack up their scores by doing the easy games. However, the serious gamers likely play more, and thus rack up more points anyways, so that way it can even out.

One can easily rack up 5000-6000 points in a weekend but then you would be stuck for weeks like everyone else. One way to compensate for that is to have teams as well, so things even out a little more. Lets see what happens over the next few months and ajust accordingly. At the same time once some smack talk starts, we can pull out some of those 'easy games' to give a gamerscore boost now and then. It would be 'dinky' but hey, thats the fun in it. :cool:

sometimes you have to click on your name on the top of the right side (the one with teh 'card') and then the score gets updated from Xbox.com

Yeah, sometimes my score gets updated right away, while at other times it takes a while.

Last night, my total gamerscore immediately reflected my latest achievement, but when I filtered for Forza 2 where I obtained the achievement, it took a few hours for it to register there. Weird.

Whats sad is that over the week, I have gained 900 points, passed 5 people, but loss 1 position on the over standing. Now at number 30. I know it is from people joining. The only solution......play even more (now the wife will not like that).

If anybody wants an easy 1000 points, try the NCAA 2006 basketball game. I don't remember the exact name of the game but there are only like 5 achievements for the whole game and they're easy to get in arcade mode. I bought the game and didn't like it, so the night before I took back to trade it in I tried a game in arcade mode (just to make sure I still didn't like it). To my surprise, I went from 0 to all 1000 achievement points within an hour. In the game settings just set the game to arcade mode, make the periods as long as possible, and play as a good team versus a bad team.

How is difficult is COD3 on veteran? I recently finished COD2 on veteran. It was pretty rough. I guess now I'll try it with COD3.

Trust me it's easy getting up to 30, and then the damn game gets difficult, i was doing the "hard" competition, no assists, auto, and brake light, once i got to lvl 35, it seemed as though "hard" had turned into insane! i dropped down to medium and it still is giving me some trouble, but hey, maybe i just suck :p

Unfortunately, I'm being slowed down by the Factory Spec races now. I race on the hardest difficulty with assists off, and you need better-than-flawless laps to win under those conditions. I should go back to the easier events and get some achievements, but this is just so addicting: a true test of skill! :D

Those factory spec races are indeed difficult. I have been trying, but not succeeding (and getting frustrated). At some point I will also give up and play on an easier level.

lately I've been hiring level 1 drivers to do undurance races for me while I do things around the house

what i'm kind of confused about is the secret achievements are for unlocking all tuned cars, all race cars, yadayada, so does that mean i have to own them? or just have them ulocked so i can own them?

You are going to have to OWN every car that is available in the retail game. I've up to 240 cars now and I almost have all production cars and tuner cars.

How is difficult is COD3 on veteran? I recently finished COD2 on veteran. It was pretty rough. I guess now I'll try it with COD3.

If you completed CoD2 on Veteran then you'll definitely not have any problem with CoD3. Maybe it was just me but I felt CoD2 was much more difficult. Rommel's Last Stand still haunts me till this day, that's what I call an ambush. :eek:

Finally I find a game, test drive where I am #1, and of course Donker is #2 and almost caught up. Anyone #1 at any game, and figure no one will ever catch them? I know some games are just impossible (Chromehounds) to get high achievements, and I figure if someone gets serious on Gears they will likely be 'untouchable'.

omg that's going to take me forever lol, i got 4 mil something in the bank, i guess i'll right down all the cars i will win while racing, and start giong to the auction house for ones that i will not.

I think that there will be a little garage icon next to cars that you want to buy so that you know that you have it already. Also I think that the garage has a maxinmim number of cars places, and you can only have 10 duplicates before the garage is 'full'.

On strategy is to buy the cars in you region (you should get some discounts on them) and then either change regions which will cost lots of $$, or start trade gifting cars of equal value to friends in different regions (for example, I am in Europe,and if you needed a Porsche, and if you were in America and I needed a Corvette, we could buy the repsective cars (of equal value or so) and gift them to each other)).

Man was it a good weekend I jumped up about 5 spots. :p

Didn't get much anything else done because of it though. :(

Just click on your name in the leaderboard, it will retrieve your current total and then update their database. Do a quick refresh and you should be up to date in the list.

I streched it out over a week. I just kept the controller plugged in and paused it when I was done playing for the day. I survived for 8 days and could've went for a few more easily.

Thanks on the hexic, the 6 black pearls was a rare moment of pure bliss caused by gaming and doing what I thought was impossible.

I played the first one a lot trying to collect all the swimsuits and items. The second one is more of the same and that's fine with me for a game I can sink TONS of time into.

I'm getting real sick of Forza. I have a few achievements ready to pop just holding off working up to Level 50.

I do a couple races a set and hire a driver for the other two and go practice guitar much more enjoyable.

Made it to #1 on the Rainbow Six Vegas list! Just beat the terrorist hunts on realistic and got both achievements 75 & 50 points.

Forza 2's achievements are tough to get without cheats, some people have billions of credits. very sad for us legit players to compete with. I finally got 1000 a couple days ago.

I am in. Weird though, my gamerscore is like 2000 points higher than it says. I have close to 16,000 and it only says 14,000.

Finally, in first place (well, tied) for a game, Madden 08, and my first 1000/1000 game. It's alot of work when you do them legit. ;)

it's all yours, I started school last fall and my gaming time/money for games has slowly decreased. I'm working on my completion % right now, around 85 shooting for 90+

I was initially tring to keep tract, but it requred too much manual numer crunching. The other problem was that people kept on joining, and I did not know when they joined to get a baseline score to measure change, so at the end, I gave up. I have the original numbers from early last year, with about 96-97 people but currently there are about 30 more people.

That being said, 360voce.com has an excellent stat tracker, with lots of details, and actually some funny blogs about you (here mine : http://www.360voice.com/tag/xerostomia ). They also have some Old spice challeneges for prizes, and if many people here are interested, we can set up a gamerscore challenge. Maybe that is what I will do, it will be fun.......

The new Old Spice challenges are cool. I've already won a $50 Best Buy gift card from one challenge.

Yeah the old spice challenges are cool, but one thing is for sure that the next time I ever play one will be where there is minimum on gamerscore level to enter. I played in a 2 week one where I held my own but it was no contest in the end when 8 of the other people had less than 20K to start. I ended up 2nd in the 2 week contest with close to an 8K gain but the winner had a 12K gain in his score:eek:

The actual motivation for getting back in 1st place was not so much to pass you red worm. The person I actually thank was when calv1n jokingly said he was going to soon pass me up for #2 about 2 months ago:)

Another cooling thing (if your into that) is to look at your progress and compare to everyone else on live. When you click on your gamertag picture, it takes you to another screen with the details of which games you played and the amount of 'overachievement' (or underachievement) for that particular game. The list can be organized from best to worst effort on the side bar on the left. My best overachievement is Command and conquer at 953.2% overachived (and I still have 125 gamerpoints left in the game).

Well I finally hit my 100K 2 nights ago, and once I figure out how to post a pic it was actually pretty cool to be able to hit it exactly. It almost looked glitched seeing the 1 followed by 5 0's on the gamertag.

But of MUCH more importance, while my gamerscore will continue to rise it will not do it quite as fast anymore. There is a new future gamer in town:) My wife and I finally got the news we had been waiting for and adopted our newborn son at the start of this month. So keep on gaming everyone and hopefully when I have the time I might be able to play a little little bit of Gears 2 with some of guys when that comes out next week. Later

That would be me at the moment, for now. Holding on at about 125K at the moment. Still trying to get to my 90% gamerscore completion, sitting at about 87% right now so perhaps by the end of year will get there. Year-end goal is to be at around 160K, right now since the little guy does not have any nightime feedings and sleeps through the night I am logging in about 3 hours a night typically. Definitely not what I used to be able to play but still loads of fun.

I'm a respectable 72nd on the list, but I'm in the top 20 of most games I play (I am selective which games I buy).

Oh yeah, and out of 75 guys, I am the undisputed Frogger champ...nobody even tied with me.

If I wasn't 80 hours into Oblivion with another 40-50 before I am through, I'd be a lot higher I'm sure.
