Ok I have some questions..
I have noticed some serious v sync issues on my xbox 360 games and it did it on my old sdtv and my new hdtv. So, I been reading up on it, seems like from what I read this is purely a v sync issue, but some ppl are saying tvs can affect the situation.
Is this true?
Also is 60 hz a good enough refresh rate for my LCD its an Olevia 537H is this refrresh rate suffice to not have any v sync issues if it has something to do with the tv?
I've noticed some serious tearing in all ubisoft games, splinter cell, r6 vegas and graw2 and it drives me nuts.
I've noticed some in pinata when you pour grass when there are alot of things on screen. CRackdown also had some issues when I was driving and when there was alot of action going on..
Thanks in advance.

Not your TV. It's the games. Seems developers think we can't tell when tearing happens, so they disable vsync in order to fool us into thinking the framerate is smoother.
Personally I am one of the few who can't freakin stand it, and I refuse to buy or play any game that visibly tears (with the exception of Gears, since it's tearing is so infrequent).
Vsync was enabled as a user option years ago on PCs. The fact that there are developers disabling it and not giving us the option to turn it on is weak to say the least. When I shelled out three months worth of electric bills $$$$ for a next gen machine I did so with the anticipation of a higher quality interactive experience. The visible tearing in all of UBIsofts (and others) games completely ruins it for me and they'll never see a penny of my dough until they change their tune.
Very few people will see what the your problem is...but rest assured i do! Most people are immune to it. That's why developers are still letting it slide. The latest demo of DIRT seems to have a bad case of tearing. It's a shame too. I "was" looking forward to that one.
We'll see if the PS3 can pick up the slack in that area.

They just need it in the options for EVERY GAME!!!! Starting to think this next gen isn't so next gen if they can't even handle a steady 30 fps with alot of stuff going on..

Unfortunately titles like Blazing Angels and others with bad v-sync issues aren't helped by the Elite via HDMI at all.

Yea, good to know it's not my tv. I don't see how some ppl can not see the tearing in some games like rainbow6. It's so obvious and it does it in the same spots over and over.
I agree gears doesn't tear often, it happened to me a few times here and there in MP, but its fine and acceptable since it's random during MP for me.
Btw, thanks for answering. I just have 1 more question, my tv is 8ms. Is that fine? And I assume its better if its a lower value? DOes ms have anything to do with blur or v sync? ( I know you said its purely programming, just making sure)
thanks

Is hdmi supposed to help those out ?
I connect my xbox via vga cable to my lcd. I tried out component and vga, both have the same tearing issues.. =[

Nah, the output connection makes no difference, it's a matter of how the the developers choose to have the game render. And lower response times mean less bluring, but have nothing to do with tearing.

Not suppose to. Just pointing out that even an Elite with HDMI isn't going to fix a video problem "built into" a game.
