Iguana Man

I've been mulling over this for more than a year and my procrastination is catching up to me. I must get this done and soon! :)
I've got a huge freshly painted wall to accommodate my size requirements. As the title reads, my goal is to project a 220" 16x9 image. 720p preferred. After looking thru several threads, it seems that lumens will be key if it isn't pitch black dark when the movie begins. Contrast is also important and here lies my confusion.
When I use the projection calculator at pj central for say a Z5, it places the pj at a minimum of 23' from the wall. This is fine, but with 1100 lumens I can't help but think the image will be completely washed out. Perhaps its just me and I need convincing otherwise, but when pushing a pj to 220", and reading posts saying lumens is very important....I dunno....I get confused.
I'm hoping that waiting a year may have an advantage in that there are now $1500 pj's that are as one poster said "light cannons".
I'd appreciate pj suggestions which will give me high lumens, and preferably be 720p widescreen native.
Oh, and thanks in advance!
Iggy
EDITED: I just now saw a few responses in another thread stating anything at or above 1000 lumens should be fine. Also, the white wall is huge and as a result will have several unused feet above and below the projected image. Will all this extra white contribute to any wash out? If so, would higher lumens help?
