Just received an HR20-700 to replace bad HR10-250. Anyone know if it is capable of switching tuners while viewing. With HR10-250 you could switch from tuner A to B while soft recording both. Does HR20-700 have this feature?
Thanks

I just had an hr20-100 installed and have the same question. In general the hr10-250 (with the Tivo interface) was much more user friendly...in particular the ability to switch between the tuners. Does the HR20-100 allow such switching?

You can't switch between them, there is no dual live buffers currently with the HR20 like the HR10-250 had.
only way to switch and be able to "rewind" is record both streams. Have spoken to Directv...No plans to add feature. Was told it is propietary to Tivo!!

That's what the DirecTV service technician told me too, but the cost cutting decision not to include live buffers on both tuners seems a more plausible reason for omitting the ability to switch tuners as was possible on the HR10.
This loss of functionality virtually kills the ability to switch between two live programs during the time they are broadcasting commercials. Bah.
