Before you owned an HD DVD player,
Before you actually saw how good HD DVD could look,
You were watching Standard-Def NTSC DVDs.
And one or more of them had promos for how good HD DVD could be.
And even though these promos weren't in HD,
They still made you sit up and take notice!
What Standard-Def DVDs did you see these promos on?
And what did you see in those promos that got you excited about the format?
I'm NOT looking for the actual HD DVDs!
I'm not looking for anything related to the tier system.
I just want to know what ad or trailer for HD DVD, that was not actually in HD, and was on a Standard-Def DVD, was the one that made you go looking for real HD in person to a store. And I would like to know which of the ads actually looked the best to you in Standard-Def if you saw more than one.
I saw a lot of HDTV commercials on NTSC TV, which always struck me as funny since you couldn't see how good the HD was unless you already had HD; but I'm most interested in the ads, and promos for the HD DVD format, that are being added to Standard-Def DVDs to get people to upgrade to HD DVD.
Something punched my buttons.
And I'm glad I bought into HD DVD for my home theater (just finished watching The Matrix trilogy - WOW!)...
But I can't say for sure where I first started seeing the HD DVD promos appearing on my Standard-Def DVDs; or which one pushed me over the edge.
How about you?
