Is there any news or a release date for the new Dish Network ViP622-1 DVR with MPEG-4 and VC-1 support, a 500GB HDD and the ability to hook up USB drives for extra storage?

Got mine installed yesterday on my new Samsung Plasma 4254. I'm using it in single mode & so far I'm pretty impressed. It seems it has a Tivo -"Season Pass" type feature. I'll play with it some more over the next couple of days to see how it works, but that is an added bonus for me 'cause I didn't know that type if DVR service was available, in any flavor, from dish.

Are these generally available from Dish and at retail?

wrobe73928, where did you get your VIP622-1? Can you tell us the size of the hard drive and the total length of the recording time?

The 622-1, now called 722 should be in production by July, same look as a 622 but black. Believe the HD is 500GB

The "My recording" space will still be 200 hours even though it has more space. That's sad.

it will have addon harddrives so you can have as many hours as you want.
