I have an Elite hooked up via an HDMI cable. I am able to play games just fine, both video and audio are great. When I try and watch a DVD I don't get any sound. The video is fine. I have tried multiple DVDs, both old and new and the problem still exists. Has anyone encountered this before?
So I guess that I am the only one with this problem? Can someone at least verify that they are able to get DVD audio with their HDMI cable?

Have you tried to get audio using any other cables? Optical or stereo?

Can your TV do Dolby Digital? Have you tried to downmix to PCM to see if you get Audio?
Everything is going through my receiver. I just hooked up a optical audio cable in addition to the HDMI cable and now I get full audio and video. I just don't understand why the extra cable is necessary when the HDMI cable has proven that it will handle the audio when I am playing games.

Ah the greatness of HDMI. I was pretty upset trying to run an HDMI cable to my tv and optical out from the TV. Only to find out that you can't pass HDMI audio through the tv and you still need to run an extra audio cable to the receiver anyways.

That is a limitation of your TV.
