My copy of Matrix Reloaded (Complete Matrix Trilogy) has very pale pink splotches on the ground and on Seraph's jacket during the first shot of Chapter 12 (where he opens the door to the courtyard). No other part of the movie (or any other) displays any sort of artifact (aside from normal compression).

My player is a Xbox 360 Elite, connected via HDMI to a Samsung HL-S5687W. I've got the latest dashboard and player updates. I've tried it with regular and expanded reference levels (usually set to expanded) with no change.

Anyone else seen this? If not, I'm thinking of trying to exchange the set tomorrow.

Sounds like a possible player issue / XBOX issue

Using the HD-A2 there are no such "splotches"

Try another HDMI cable too.

I've noticed the same pink splotches in my copy. I'm using the Toshiba HD-A1 w/ the latest firmware. It's connected via HDMI. I think it has to do with the extensive amount of white in that shot combined with the use of a green screen during filming. The pink sploches may be a side effect from the post-production special effects.

I didn't noticed any pink splotches, I'll have to watch it again

I noticed it too on my D2, was gonna throw in the regular DVD and see if it was still visible.

That was there in the original DVD. I remember it well. It's a shame that it made it into the HD version. Must have been in the master...

Try another HDMI cable too.

Not likely. HDMI is digital, so the signal is either all or none...you will not see degredation like you do on analog cables.

Bless you for starting this thread. I JUST got a brand new Mitsubishi 65731 on clearance for a sweet price. I got it home and got my Toshiba HD-A1 and my PS3 all nice and hooked up HDMI. Having just received my LARGE May 22nd shipment from Amazon, I couldn't wait to test out the new discs on my new TV.

I scanned through my new movies to check out PQ (which was incredible on all the movies i purchased), but I immediately noticed the pink speckles in the scene you are referring to. I was so worried there might be something wrong with my new set. I looked around this forum for any information but didn't see anyone else noticing this. None of my friends or family have HD players so I had no place to test the discs out. It sucks that the scene has these "pink pixels" but I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice them.

This sounds like that pirating tracking thing some studios used on some movies. I've seen pink spots flash up for a second during some movies in theaters.

It's not really pink spots. It's like bad pink/green video noise for a few seconds on the middle of the screen, like when they composited two layers of video together and there is bad artifacting.
