Regardless, whether you have a combo Universal disc or single disc does your player hang if you put it on pause for more than 5 minutes? It does for mine for the last couple of combo discs and the recent single of Skeleton Key. You can not pause the movie for more than 5 minutes without having to "eject" the disc and remember where you left off. Even if you have "my scenes" engaged you still have to eject the disc because the Tosh will not start play again unless you engage "eject."
Any others with this problem? I am a strong HD DVD supporter but this is a real downer.

Works fine for me. After a few minutes the Universal screen saver kicks in and to get the movie back all I have to do is press either the pause button or play button two times.

Rachel on this board has noticed the same problem. No problem if you pause and let the screen saver pop up. If you let it go for more than five minutes after the screen saver pops up it crashes my player. The player is still on but you get a black screen and I can not get it to replay without ejecting the disc and starting from the beginning even with "my scenes" in memory.

This is only with Universal discs.

I too have had this problem with Universal discs and my HD-A2. It's the more recent Universal discs with the screensaver feature built-in, older titles like for instance Happy Gilmore & Bourne Supremacy don't have this glitch when pausing because they don't have the screensaver built-in to the disc.

Same problem for me on the 360... though I'm not sure if it still does it after the last update, haven't given it the chance :)

I have the 1.6 update for my XA2. My recent combos now play without fault from Universal thanks to 1.6 but I think they need to look at the Screen Saver feature.

On my HD-A1 with firmware 2.2, I've not had any problems with it(I didn't have any problems with it before the 2.2 firmware update either).

Never had this issue on my XA1. I know I've left a movie on pause for more than 20 minutes.
I have a few Universal disc, I'll try them in the morning.
Hulk is the only Uni movie I've had to pause recently, though it might not be recent enough to be a potential problem disk. I had no problem with Hulk though fwiw.
