I was playing halo 3 beta on xbox live and in the third match the system look up and crash, and then I got three red rings, now what? :mad:

you're screwed, call microshaft for a refurb, or if you have warranty for the store i would go with the store cause microshafts refurbs might do the same 3 red lights.

Edit: shipping might take a while too, so shipping might take all of halo 3 beta time :( if you want a short term remedy, wrap it up in 2 big towels all around, leave it on for 30 minutes, it will get really hot, take off the towels and let it cool off, turn it on then it wont give you 3 red lights anymore, but this is only a short term fix, tomorrow it might give you the lights again.

That's really all you can do. If you know what your doing you can take a look yourself and see if something is fixable. Have you checked the 3 red light thread? It has topic on what the 3 lights could mean on your console. Good luck.

Keep calling back. you might be able to get someone to either let you add the extended warrantee or either give you a discount on the repair.

do the towel trick, it'll fix it for a few months at least, then you can finish the beta if anything.

i had 3 red rings about a month ago, overheated my box with a towel, and i havent even had a freeze since then

is there another harddrive you can try ? or try unplugging HD and seeing if a game on dvd will work? I got 3 rings on xbox1 and troubleshot it down to the harddrive as it has the same general code

The towel trick didn't work, I have pay the 140.00 to micosoft. I think that it has zero to do with heat issue, more software. Also the Halo 3 is a beta so why can't that f*^$ some thing up, software beta for the pc have that problem all the time.

5 days to get the box, and 8 days to fix it and sent it back.

It's not right up against anything, there is a good amount of space behind there so that it can spit out the hot air. I have had it there since 12-03-05

ehh, it was eventually gonna die anyways, that looks like it has no breathing room too, but thats no the point, these things are supposed to last a good amount of time, almost all of them die eventually. What sucks is that they are going to replace it with one thats gonna die eventually also.
