I live in San Diego, and I just recently acquired a sony 1252q. I have been trying to set it up for the past week and have been having a good amount of trouble getting the picture just right. I was hoping that somebody could possibly help me setting it up, but as I am college student I don't have much to offer in terms of monetary compensation.

If you haven't already done so, start with the primer: http://www.curtpalme.com/CRTPrimer.shtm

Then, follow the steps to do a GOOD mechanical setup (poor mechanical will result in overtaxing the electronic adjustments, leading to overheat and all sorts of trouble.)

Basically, you want to have the projector dead perpendicular to the screen, without too much tilt (the bottom rim of the lenses should be about even with the bottom of the screen (if table mounted) or top of the screen (ceiling mounted.))

See the Layout and Setup tips and Manuals here: http://www.curtpalme.com/Sony125x.shtm

I'm no good for Sony specific info... you should change the thread subject line to include your PJ model name... This will draw the attention of the Sony experts.
