Hi...I've had my Samsung LN-R408D, 40 inch LCD TV set for about a year. But this entire time I've owned it, I've never been happy with my calibration settings. I tried the AVIA calibration disc, but I don't seem to have a very good eye for it, or I found the disc confusing, one of the two. Anyway, I was hoping that some of you may have some recommended settings for this particular TV set (or any of the similar models manufactured by Samsung). Some recommended contrast, brightness, and other settings would be HIGHLY appreciated. Thank you so much for your help!!!!
Samsung 40' LCD (LN-R408D)
Bose 5.1 surround system w/rear wireless
60 GB PS3
Psyclone 4x1 HDMI switcher (PSC47)
Panasonic DVD Recorder/VCR combo with HDMI (DMR-ES45V)
XBOX 360 Elite

Calibration is system specific. Avia is pretty straightforward, though it is brief on the suggestions for setting levels with digitals. You can read the FAQ here as well. You want to maximize black and white to just below the clip or colorshift points. Keep at it.

Sorry for resurrecting a 3 year old post, which no one had replied to, but I am trying to calibrate my Samsung LN-R408D TV. I am using the Kal's calibration post

I know it is an old TV, but I hope some of you familiar with it.
Anyway, Hopefully some of you tried to calibrate that TV before, if not then maybe an expert can help me.
Does anyone know how to adjust the RGB levels on that TV?
I spent several hours yesterday and could not find anything in the menu. The TV has some color detail adjustment, which contains Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Pink and White adjustments, but those settings do not make much difference.
Maybe someone can tell me if the TV has a service menu and how can it be accessed?
I was only able to adjust the luminance by adjusting the contrast and it is spot on. I was able to adjust the gray scale so the Delta E is around 8 for most of the IRE after IRE20, but I think I can do better if I can adjust individual Red and Blue colors.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
