Hi again...

My first version of this question was too long-winded. So another try...

- Will FIOS work with my S3 and Sony HD-DVR's?

I'd sure appreciate some input from people who know about FIOS and cablecards.

Thanks very much

GOOD NEWS!!!!! IT WORKS!!!!!

I have fios and use a cablecard with the sony dhg hdd500. It works great but keep in mind that the fios cablecard does not support an analog pbs broadcast so you'll have to receive your guide data OTA. During the initial setup be sure to connect an antenna and select 'cable and OTA'. My host is channel 22 out of DC. The signal is weak and I barely have a picture but it still pulls in the guide data.

It actually works better than my previous comcast cablecard (no missed recordings anymore) since verizon uses the latest moto card (v. 4.21). I am also getting stronger signal strength across the board compared to the comcast feed.

The one negative is that the guide is missing a few of the newer hd channels so you may have to call tvgos (1-800-386-7380) and report them (usually takes several weeks to be turned on).

As far as the tivo3, I'm assuming it should also work fine.

IMHO, with their latest triple play 2 year promo, fios is an outstanding value.

Thank you so much!

One reason I was unsure is that when I called FIOS, and mentioned 'cablecard DVR's,' the lady said.....'ummmmm, we don't support those.' But I suspected that was a matter of her individual lack of know-how, rather than Verizon policy.

And now you've given me the answer. I'm glad it'll work. And yes, I already have an OTA coax running to the Sony's. I use Ch. 22 also...same as you, it's snowy, but it populates the guide.

Thank you! I'll do it!
