Hi,

My father has bought a new Sony HDR-HC7 camcorder last week and we are wondering which >46" Full HD Flat TV can handle Sony's new x.v.Color standard?

Sony claims that x.v.Color can capture or display nearly twice as many (1.8x) viewable colors than currently possible. This provides a more accurate and vivid color range, for a more natural, lifelike overall experience.

Thanks,
Fico

I know the 2007 Panasonic TVs with HDMI 1.3 support it (that definitely includes the LCD and consumer plasma line, it does not include any of the 9th gen plasma displays.)

Thanks, but does a display with HDMI 1.3 always supports x.v.Color (aka xvYCC) also? Or is HDMI 1.3 just a requirement and x.v.Color an extra feature?

HDMI 1.3 introduced alot of new features - not all of them are available with all products.

The new Panasonic TVs with HDMI 1.3 do support these specific features:
- 340MHz speed
- "xvyCC" color standard
- lip sync

If I read in the LCD thread correctly Sony is fooling as here. There x.v.Color stands for extended color gamut of over 100% NTSC not for Deep Color or at least it sounded there as if those two where not the same.
IF its not Deep Color it would be nothing but a marketing bubble of Sony.

None of this is confirmed just how I understood it in the LCD Thread.
