I had decided on the Pio 5070 for about $2400...but I just found out I can get the Panny 75u or 77u for about $1950 delivered.

NEED ADVICE...PLEASE!!

Just when I thought I was out...I get pulled back in. Thanks!!

Go with the best picture. Sounds like you were impressed initially by the 5070. I would stick with it then.

You already made your choice...stop trying to get other people to talk you out of it.

Is it $500 better?

To be honest, I hadn't really looked at the Panny's I listed. I only seriously looked at the 1080p 700.

Wondering how the other 2 compare to the 5070.

Wise words nonetheless.

I've had the Panny 77u and the Pioneer 5070 and without a doubt, it was worth the extra $500-600 I spent on the 5070. They all look pretty close in the store, but at home, the 5070 was the hands down winner. I'm now awaiting the release of the 5080.

You can get the Pioneer Elite 1140HD for about the same price as the 5070 shipped.

From where? What are the advantages of the Elite over the 5070?

That 2.4K is not far from the street price of the new 5080s. If you can wait 3 weeks, you'll be able to get something that beats all three of the plasmas you are looking at.
