Ok my room is 165 inches wall to wall, I will be using the HD1000u, and the mountdirect PMS wall mount, which I will post a pic of since it will play into a factor with the measurements. I'm trying to use the mitsubishi calculator and I'm just confused because I can't determine how its going to work factoring in the mount which is showing 8.3inches to the center, which the HD1000u is 9.5inches end to end so I'm assuming I'm going to have the lense almost 12inches from the wall all said and done?, etc, I'm trying not to use zoom, shooting for 110inches diag. maybe a little less, can someone tell me where I need to mount the mount, I'm wanting to atleast get the screen to about 30inches from the floor to the bottom edge.

If the projector is 9.5 inches from front to back and the mount bar is 8.3 inches to the center of the PJ, the back of the PJ will be 8.3 - 4.25 = 4.05 inches from the wall. Tha puts the lens near 13 inches from the wall, which is normal. The screen wall will be 12.6 feet from the lens. At that distance, no zoom will result in an 87" diagonal and full zoom will result a 106" diagonal. The image height will be 52" with an offset of 17". 30" from the floor plus 52" to the top of the image plus 17" to the center of the lens plus 6 " to the center of the mount plate. Put a dot on the wall 105" from the floor - that's where the center of the wall mount plate should go. Looks like you will need a 9 foot ceiling and the top of the mount plate will be one inch from the ceiling.

If you don't have a 108" ceiling, subtract your height from 108 and that is how much lower the screen will have to be from the floor, unless you use keystoning.

Ok wow lol thanks for the response, I need a lil bit more if you have a second,I have a ten foot ceiling, I should have mentioned that. Also 90inches from the wall the mount will be on is a ceiling fan that hangs down 19inches...considering the offset of the lense, how high can the screen be before I'm shooting into the fan, and where would 40inch screen take my center mount point to? 30inches after remeasuring is low, I need about 40inches to the bottom edge of the screen but I don't think I'm going to be able to do it..

EDIT: The projector is 9.6 inches deep, shouldn't change it to much

Ok, so slide all the numbers up 10" to make your screen bottom at 40" instead of 30". The center of the mount plate will be at 115" instead of 105". Near as I can tell, the ceiling fan will not be a problem.

k, I guess to what I can try it getting on a ladder and seeing how high I can get it too before I hit the fan :) Thanks for all the help, I have a great starting point and can't wait to get to demolition

The center of the lens will be 11" below the ceiling and the screen top edge will be 28" below the ceiling. If the fan is 90" from the mount wall and the fan does not hang below 19" from the ceiling, it is not going to be in the way.
