Can I ask a quick question? What kind of 2-ch sy, minus speakers, can I buy with $4000. I have Rt8's right now. Thanks

I'd probably spend 2000-2500 on speakers, 1000-1500 on a good integrated amplifier, and 500 on room treatments.

A really nice option would be the AV123 Strata Minis (http://www.**********/products_category_brand.php?section=speakers&brand=54). I'm not sure if the owner (Mark) is still offering a free in-home trial, but I'd definitely inquire about it, considering your price range. Other nice options in that price range would be from Totem Acoustics, Tyler Acoustics, Audio Physic, Devore Fidelity, Wharfedale Opus, Magnepan (if you have the space). I'll let others cover the more well known manufacturers.

Hey lileddy

Check out this review. This is nice equipment. I have the Statos and Candela.

It's way under your budget.

Thanks for your quick response Lindahl and Psyopwak. I'm going out this am to browse the Gramophone in B-ham Mi and look at some of the goodies there. I know I can't do it all in a day or two, but I'm excited to get started as I know it takes years to collect but I'm starting late in life.

I have had the Strata's for about a month now. Extremely nice speaker. Excellent for a 2-channel system.
