After a few discussions in AVS Forum I had decided to buy JBL E-80 Towers and AVR XR-57. I live in the Middle East for the past two years. I listened to the E-80 Towers and bought them a couple of weeks ago after having a good impression about the sound, felt like as I was advised in that thread.
Now the problem is the receiver. Though the XR Receivers are not yet available in the market here, the sales person had promised me that he will arrange one for me. Recently I came to know from him that the XR Receivers have been discontinued due to unknown reasons. Now I am looking at Yamaha RX-661 or Pioneer- 1016 or HK AVR 335/ 245. The first thing I consider is the sound quality especially for music. Which one of these will be better with JBL E-80's? Seek your kind advises.

strange. There's a new XR59 at Panasonic Germany (http://www.produkte.panasonic.de/index.asp?sStr=3@-@1@16@73@@@@@@@Receiver@), so they cant have been discontinued.

I was also in the market for the xr57 but Etronics is out of stock, and they seem to be the only store that ships this product to Canada. I'd be interested in knowing the alternatives as well.

The specs of the 245 and 247 seem awfully similar. The rear panel is identical, and the only difference I could find from the HK website is that the 247 upscales non-HD sources to 720p.
