I am going to rent the AVIA and DVE calibration discs from Netflix and would like to know of a B&M store where I could get the color filters I need. Can these be found at hobby shops or camera shops, or do I have to go straight to AVIA or DVE online?

thanks,
gus

One might try using the search function, and discover that there are numerous threads that already discuss and answer this question...

If you happen to be in the market for a camera flash, or already have one you'd like to have color matching filters for, the nikon sj-1 filter set happens to have a correct blue filter, as I just discovered. ;)

Well, i have been to the dve site to get the filters, but it said I needed to include the dvd number on the request. I do not have the dvd yet as I am waiting to get the filters before I rent it. I shot them an email, but after about 2 weeks, still no reply. Anyone have any ideas?

thanks

Goodness, you can buy them at Avia's site, you can buy the thx blue glasses from thx, etc.

The link to the AVIA filters is on this page: http://www.ovationmultimedia.com/products.html.

The THX Optimizer Glasses are available here: http://www.co-store.com/thx.

Unless you have a plasma display, you will get the same results with any of these (the DVE filter pack seems to work better with some plasma displays, because they filter out more UV).

Why don't you just buy it? A copy of DVE is cheap enough (= dinner for 2 at Denny's) - from Amazon and others.
